Bhumoraguri Eco-Tourism Project

Situated on the river bank of the mighty river Brahmaputra and on the north boundary of the sixth addition to the Kazaringa National Park (KNP),the small hillock named Bhumoraguri Reserve Forests has its own beauty and history and gives enough opportunity for viewing the scenic beauty and also wild life .Another important wild life sanctuary Burachapori Wild Life Sanctuary is also situated on the other bank of the river.
It is only 8 k.m. away from the Tezpur town, the district head quarter as well as one of the major tourist destination of the state. It falls on the way to the popular Kaziranga-Nameri-Tawang tourism circuit which added more opportunity for the tourist to explore it. This Reserve forest has many wild animals which include elephant, leopard including occasional visit of the Rhino across the river. Many species of birds, reptiles and other species also live in it. Having lush green forests with many water bodies, this reserve forest also act as refuge for the wild animals coming out of the Burachapori Wild Life Sanctuary which stays for at least three to five months.
